Inter-state transport vehicles banned from going beyond Ojota

The Lagos State Government on Wednesday said inter-state buses and other vehicles along the Ikorodu Road would thenceforth not go beyond Ojodu Berger and Ojota motor parks.

The move appears to be part of the Lagos State government to force operators of interstate transportation to relocate their business to motor parks at Ojodu Berger and Ojota. The instruction is part of the plans of the government to utilise spaces under flyovers, the Acting Commissioner for Transportation, Anofiu Elegushi, reportedly said.

“We will no longer allow inter-state buses on Ikorodu Road; they will have to go to Ojota and Ojodu Berger, which are the two designated inter-state motor parks. The inter-state transport operators in Jibowu will have to move and they have seven days to do that, said. The operators have not been tidy despite repeated warnings. Government can no longer allow such to continue. We are moving them where they really belong. There are major bus terminals springing up, which are all part of the overall plan,” he added.
