The 69th Primetime Emmy Awards held Sunday night at Microsoft Theater Los Angeles celebrates excellence in American’s television broadcast.
The night saw a number of firsts for black comedians as well as online streaming service Hulu. It was hosted by the Late Show anchor Stephen Colbert and aired on the CBS network. A few shows had multiple nominations, while John Lithgow was the first winner of the night.
