Norrison Quakers (SAN), the solicitor representing Nigeria hip-hop star, Davido Adeleke popularly known as Davido, has released a statement in the wake of the allegations implicating his client in the death of his friend, Tagbo Umeike.
The three-page statement “The unfortunate death of Tagbo Umeike; Davido’s Story” was dated Thursday 12th October and among other things tried to establish that Davido did not leave nor left the Shisha Room in Lekki place with Tagbo nor gave instructions to anyone to take the corpse to the general hospital. It also made it clear that Davido has at no time been arrested by the police but has assisted actively in the police investigation.
Recall that Tagbo Umeike was found dead following a night out in the company of Davido and some friends. Tagbo’s girlfriend Caroline Danjuma made his death public in social media and alleged that Davido has some explaining to do. Following on-going investigations, the police have come out to say that Davido’s account of what happened that night did not tally with that of other eye-witnesses and that they want him to answer some more questions.
