A Senior Secondary School One student identified as Lawal has fled her father’s house and eloped with a certain Akin who is 21 years old and works as a motorcycle rider. The incident occurred in Magbon, Badagry.
According to PUNCH, the father who works in a dock in Apapa was a single parent who had lost his wife and was left to care for the runaway lover and her siblings. He alleges that Akin had met with Lawal at the church and taken her away. This was not the first time she had fled home as she once did when he scolded her for being friends with Kemi who he claimed linked his daughter with Akin.
The father said that his daughter had always been decent until she started walking with Kemi and changed in behavior, spending nights away from home and sometimes not seeing her for a stretch of a week. He was certain that Kemi knew where Lawal and Akin were and he pleaded with the police to ensure that they provided his daughter as Kemi’s parents have been frustrating his efforts when he went to them with his problem.
The police have not as at the time of this report found the girl and the Police Public Relations Officer of Lagos State, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole said the case was reported to the Marogbo police station as that of a missing person.
