Jealous husband cuts off wife’s hands over cheating suspicions

A jealous husband cut off both his wife’s hands with an axe after accusing her of having a secret lover on the internet. The savage medieval-style attack has appalled Russian doctors who have sewn back one hand, but cannot save the other.

 

This is another domestic violence incident that chills the bone and we doubt it would be the last. The list of such horrific story is rather long. Do we start with the story of the man that ran over and killed his wife with his vehicle? Maybe we should talk about the man that beats his wife for every like she gets on Facebook? How about the woman that stabbed and killed her husband because she thought he was cheating on her? As we noted, the list is long and continuing. Tragic times.

So this jealous husband mutilated his wife’s hands over suspicions of infidelity. Nothing confirmed (but even if they were, so what?) You don’t take the law into your own hands. If you believe you can’t live with a cheater (even if they were only suspected of cheating) then seek a legal dissolution of the marriage. Not cause the person a bodily or psychological harm. But in this case, the husband thought otherwise. In his mind, it makes perfect sense to cut off his wife’s hands, that way, no more internet or phone romances for her anymore. How diabolic!

The macabre attack happened near Panikovo village on 11 December, according to The Sun.

Dmitry Grachyov, 26, took his wife Margarita, mother of his two children, to a forest after accusing her of being unfaithful, according to local reports. He first used an axe to strike her fingers as he sought to torture her into a confession, but she denied his accusations, say reports based on police sources. He then severed one hand followed by the other.

Thereafter, with blood gushing from both arms, Grachyov drove his wife to the hospital and gave himself up to police.

He has been remanded in custody pending investigations into the incident.

 

 

Doctors managed to save one of Margarita’s hands with intensive surgery. One surgeon said Grachev’s actions were inhuman. Margarita needed a “highly complex” nine-hour operation to reconnect one hand after the attack by her husband who has been called “Othello with an axe”.

 

 

The right hand and arm were “too damaged” in the gruesome attack to be saved, say doctors. The couple has been married five years and have two children, sons aged three and four.

Before attacking her, he demanded she be tested on a lie detected. She agreed but he mutilated her anyway, police say.
