The other time, we saw him showcasing some beautiful dance moves that put many younger than him to shame. Now, news making the round is that the former head of state has successfully defended his thesis on Christian Theology, the Punch reports. This is no small feat for anyone of any age but for someone so advanced in age, it’s doubly wonderful! No disrespect to older folks – it’s a blessing we all pray for, to live old and be healthy at the same, and of course to have the means to sustain a healthy lifestyle.
And in case you’re wondering Obj as he’s fondly called is eighty years at least. Rumour has it he’s significantly older than that.
The award is being conferred by the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
The 250-page thesis defence, which lasted an hour and 30 minutes, according to Punch, was carried out before a six-man panel inside the auditorium of the Abeokuta Study Centre of the institution in Ogun State on Friday, 15th December.
In the panel were Dr Mande Samaila (Dean, Postgraduate School, NOUN), Prof. Cletus Gotan (chairman of the panel and an external Supervisor), Prof. Deji Ayegboyin (Major Supervisor), Dr Mustapha Raheem Adejoro, (Head of Department, Religious Studies (NOUN), Prof. Nebath Tanglang (Representative, School of Postgraduate Studies, NOUN) and Prof. Godwin Akper (Internal Supervisor and Dean, Faculty of Arts, NOUN).
