Don’t make phone calls at filling stations or risk going to prison, police says

The Nigeria Police has issued a public warning against making phone calls at filling stations.

The caution is to safeguard public lives and property from dangers of inflammation that could arise from such actions, police say.

Anyone caught violating the order will face the risk of prosecution and if found guilty will go to the prison, according to the police.

The warning was issued yesterday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood. Moshood said police officers have the authority to arrest anyone found making phone calls or smoking at filling stations.

He described filling stations as public facilities and that motorists need to act with caution on account of the inflammable products being dispensed there. He also cautioned the public against violating the safety rules forbidding smoking and phone calls at filling stations.

He says: “Making phone calls or smoking at filling stations is a criminal offence and the police, of course, could arrest anyone violating the safety rules put in place to safeguard life and property at the filling stations.”

    • The Filling station can secretly report you and take pictures with evidence, but I think is best to have police deployed in each filling station.

  9. I support this motion. Making phone calls at a filling station is highly inflammable and its very risky. Take for instance, is just like carrying your phone close to the generator. The media has recorded several explosions, because people use their phones and operate Generator at the same time.

So the same thing is applicable to the filling station, if you want to live long…pls adhere.
