Tomi Adeyemi debuts the biggest fantasy novel for 2018: Children of Blood and Bone

Just after the movie Black Panther portrayed an African country that could never be called a shithole.

Not forgetting the amazing feat of Olubayode Olawunmi who broke the Guinness Book of Records for the longest marathon read aloud. We as Africans we cannot but be more proud of Tomi Adeyemi whose book is ruling the literary scene and once again brings Africa to the limelight. Her debut novel, Children of  Blood and Bone, an Afrofuturistic science fiction could well give Nnedi Okorafor a run for her money.

The book is a West African inspired fantasy story set in the fictional land of Orisha, where magic used to thrive and was celebrated. But everything changed the night magic disappeared. The land suffered under the orders of a ruthless king leaving the people without hope. Could Zélie Adebola with the help of a rogue princess bring back the magic?

The book has garnered positive reviews from top literary personals and New York Times bestselling authors such as like Stephen King, Marie Lu, Daniel Jose and  Dhonielle Clayton.

Copies of the book can be ordered through Amazon, Powell’s IndieBound, UK Retailers and Audible.

It is reported that Tomi had earned a seven-figure book deal for her young-adult trilogy.
