World Cup 2018 Awards: Golden ball, best young player, golden boot, golden glove

The Russia 2018 World Cup saw some exceptional players show their worth for their countries. Here, a few of the many players that gave their all at the competition were  recognised for their achievements.

Golden Ball: Luka Modric was deservedly given the golden ball award for his influence in taking Croatia to the final. Although he had competition from the likes of Mbappe, he showed a level of maturity and class that just made him impossible to mute in any game. He deserves the award and no true football fan will tell you otherwise.Golden Ball

FIFA Young Player Award: Without an iota of doubt we can all say 19-year-old Kylian Mbappe was the best young player of the tournament, scoring a total of 4 goals for France and troubling the defence of their opponents with a mixture of pace and skill.FIFA Young Player Award:

Golden boot: Harry kane with a tally of six goals at the World Cup won the Golden boot award, three of those goals coming from spot kicks. Although some may argue that Kane was not the best striker at the tournament he still has the highest goals as no other player managed to outscore him.Golden boot:

Golden Glove: The golden glove award went to Thibaut Courtois, who helped his team secure a third place win against Engalnd and made some very impossible saves against Brazil. He was in top form throughout the tournament.
