Diamond Platnumz arrested for sharing indecent content on social media

Tanzania singer, Diamond Platnumz has being arrested for posting an indecent video on social media.

The Tanzania minister of information, arts, culture and sport confirmed this on Tuesday while speaking to the parliament in Swahili.

We haven’t remained idle as we passed as we passed Electoral and Postal Communication Act (EPOCA) Regulations recently. And for your information, we have arrested a popular musician, Diamond, for posting indecent content on social media,” he tells the parliament.

The talented singer shared two videos on his Instagram page — one with the mother of his child, Hamisa Mobeto and another with an unidentified woman.

The video involved the 28-year-old superstar smooching and caressing the unidentified woman and the other is of him sitting on Hamisa Mobeto.

Social media speculations indicate that the award-winning singer shares the raunchy videos with the aim of spiting his ex-girlfriend, Zari Hassan.

Recently, the singer also mocked his ex-wife, Zari in a new song. In the song titled Kwangaru, Diamond Platnumz shared how unforgiving he gets when a woman he loves offends him.

If found guilty the singer could face a fine of at least five million Tanzanian shillings ($2,200) or a prison sentence of a minimum of 12 months or both.

Mr Mwakyembe said the government was also monitoring other artists who had been engaging in decadent behaviour and warned they would be brought to justice irrespective of their popularity.
