Netflix plans to release a new movie every week of 2021, see 27 of the titles

Netflix is promising a good time to its subscribers every new week as it announces a plan to release a new movie every week for the remainder of 2021. The movie streaming platform announced the plan on Tuesday on its Twitter handle.

The Western “The Harder They Fall,” starring Regina King, Idris Elba is one of the movies scheduled for release while Jonathan Majors. Lin-Manuel Miranda and Halle Berry will make their directorial debuts with “Tick, Tick … Boom!” and “Bruised” respectively.

The bit of exciting news comes as the Coronavirus pandemic continues to derail the operations of theaters across the world, moving film release to streaming platforms mostly.

Most recently, Warner Bros. announced plans to simultaneously release the studio’s 2021 slate of films on HBO Max and in theaters where possible. Warner Bros., like CNN, is part of WarnerMedia.

Below, we briefly write about all the 27 movies that Netflix will be releasing in 2021.

Its biggest money film of 2021 will likely be “Red Notice”,  a thriller film starring Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson. Idris Elba and Jonathan Majors (of “Lovecraft Country”) star in Netflix’s “The Harder They Fall”. This is a Western genre film about revenge.

“Thunder Force” is a superhero comedy film that features Melissa McCarthy, Octavia Spencer, Pom Klementieff, and Melissa Leo.

Halley Berry stars in “Bruised” a drama about an MMA fighter battling to win custody of her son while chasing her career. Netflix will also release a musical drama titled “Tick, Tick… Boom!” with Andrew Garfield, Alexandra Shipp, Robin de Jesús and others.

The Kissing Booth 3” and “To All The Boys: Always And Forever” will both be ending when the company releases their final chapters in 2021.

“The Woman In The Window” a psychological drama will be Netflix way of showing an infamous aspect of the human mind in 2021.

Chris Hemsworth stars in “Escape from Spiderhead”, a science fiction film based on the short story Escape from Spiderhead by George Saunders.

Family time is important and Netflix has “Yes Day” as its special release for this building block of society.

Back to action-packed movies, Jason Momoa appears in “Sweet Girl”, a thriller about revenge and retribution. If you are hyped for this, then what comes next will totally knock your socks off; a Zack Snyder directed zombie heist movie titled “Army of the Dead” and starring Dave Bautista.

“Outside the Wire” is another sci-fi film that Netflix will release on 15 January 2021. See its complete trailer here:

Comedic actors Eric André, Michaela Conlin, Tiffany Haddish and Lil Rel Howery provide entertaining performances in “Bad Trip”.

“O2” is an adrenaline-pumping French survival thriller with Mélanie Laurent in the lead role. Meanwhile, Jean Claude Van Damme returns to the big screen in “The Last Mercenary”.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars in “Kate” as a criminal mastermind on a revenge mission. Not leaving out the horror in 2021, Netflix has “Fear Street” scheduled for 2021 as well.

“Night Teeth” is a classic taxi driver thriller where the innocent chauffeur is sucked into a world beyond his expertise.

John David Washington and Zendaya star in the two-person film titled “Malcolm And Marie”. Netflix will release it on 5 February 2021.

2018 film “Monster” is coming to Netflix this 2021. It stars Jennifer Hudson, Kelvin Harrison Jr., and Jennifer Ehle and is based on the novel of the same name by Walter Dean Myers.

“Moxie” is a coming of age film about a teenager while “The White Tiger” is an Indian dark comedy. “Double Dad” is a Brazillian family film.

Netflix has an animated movie titled “Back To The Outback” coming out in 2021. The Australian themed animation also features some of the biggest actors and comics in Australia.

“Beauty” is a film about a gifted Black singer’s struggle with fame and identity. Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio co-star in “Don’t Look Up”, a film about a deadly comet approaching the earth.

Netflix is in a solid position to dominate the movie business in 2021 as the coronavirus pandemic continues to force theaters to either close or starve for new content to release.

Studios have continually postponed much of their marketable tentpoles as the clime in the pandemic might mean that no one will be able or willing to visit a cinema to see them.
