Premier League Matchday 11 Roundup: Raheem Sterling and De Bruyne score in City’s easy win over Fulham; Other results

Manchester City as expected eased past Fulham 2-0 with Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne grabbing the goals in another comfortable home win for Pep Guardiola’s men.

Sterling set the Citizens on their way, grabbing his first Premier League goal since mid-October after being set up by a wonderful pass from none other than the in-form Kevin De Bruyne.

The Belgian then got one for his troubles too from the penalty spot after Raheem Sterling was fouled in the area by Joachim Andersen making Raheem Sterling the most fouled player resulting in a penalty in the league’s history.

Fulham, who beat Leicester on Monday, could not replicate such heroics against Manchester City as they failed to lay a glove on Pep Guardiola’s side.

Only a week ago, City dismantled Burnley 5-0 signaling that normal service has resumed for Guardiola’s men in the Premier League. Following up their convincing 5-0 win over Burnley, the win against Fulham shows another intense and dominant performance moving them up to fourth in the standings.

Burnley 1-1 Everton: Dominic Calvert-Lewin scores 11th PL goal as both sides play first-ever Premier League draw

Premier League Matchday 11 Roundup

Dominic Calvert-Lewin grabbed his 11th league goal of the campaign as both sides (Burnley and Everton) played in their first Premier League draw on Saturday at the Turf Moor.

Both sides headed into the game with an inconsistent form and were struggling for points, but it was the host who took the lead very early into the match through Robbie Brady who scored his first goal since December 3, 2019.

Following an injury to Fabian Delph, Everton switched to Carlo Ancelotti’s preferred 4-3-3 formation and they were a much better team compared, in fact, they were rewarded as Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin linked up, with the latter poking home a cross for his 16th goal for club and country in all competitions this season.

As play resumed in the second period, lack of cutting edge ensured the game finished as it was.

James Rodriguez, however, forced a flying save from Nick Pope early in the half before Chris Wood did the same against Jordan Pickford as the game drew to a close.
