Nigerian lady relieves pain of loosing her father to kidnappers as she witnesses armed men storm into a catholic church to kidnap a man in Imo state

When one goes to church usually the last thing on their mind is the prospect that they would somehow become kidnapping victims

It’s a place of worship ordinarily perceived as a safe sanctuary from the worries and the nefarious activities of the secular world. Think peace, joy, reverence, a serenity of the mind, even the devil is believed to designate the House of God as off limits.

While the devil may shy away from churches, apparently, some bold-faced kidnappers thought otherwise.

Worse still if their evil act forces you to once again remember the loss of loved, like this Twitter user @chibelb who witnessed armed men storm into a church to kidnap a worshipper, something akin to the time her own father was kidnapped and subsequently killed by kidnappers in 2012.

Read her tweets:

I went to Church this morning, all of a sudden during mass, armed men jumped into the church & opened fire. it was a horrible experience “People were running in all directions.

People falling on others and all I could think of was how this would be my last day on earth.

Turns out, they armed men came to kidnap a Man. They beat him mercilessly and dragged him into their car.”

The user then added a prayer for the safety of the kidnapped man

Dear Lord, please do what you do best and bring this man back to his family.”

She also reflected on the boldness of the hoodlums to attack people in a church

It’s scary that even the Church is no longer a safe haven. One minute you’re in church praising God, the next min you’ree running for your life.

That’s the world we live in right??? One step forward and Hundred steps backward.. ?? It’s just sad.. We need to do better

It’s sad that you’ll go to Church and you have to deal with running for your life or getting kidnapped in the house of God… ??

9th December 2012, my father was kidnapped and killed.. I still live with the pain.. and today in Church, I had to relive my worst pain…?

We feel her pain and hope she finds the fortitude to stay strong.

  3. It will never be well with them. Why would they do such a thing to an innocent girl trying to help her family? They will surely reap why they sow.

  4. I’m crying reading this story. God bless this lady. This comedians that lacks common decency and jokes about serious issues but pause and reflect. Some things are off limits as far as jokes are concerned. Instead of raising awareness you’re trivialising a serious matter. Sit down and reflect about your jokes and the things you spew. I’ll never attend this man’s show ever.
God bless you sis. I hope you fins peace with time. It heals all wounds.
