The shares of the company hit an all-time high on Thursday, taking the company’s worth to 1 trillion company. Apple is the most valuable company in the United States, with a market value of nearly $1.4 trillion. Microsoft is worth almost $1.3 trillion.
This is the first time that three American companies are worth one trillion dollars at the same time.
The richest company in the world is Saudi oil giant, Aramco which went public last month and is now worth 1.8 trillion dollars.
Google’s historic share climb comes after Alphabet co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page stepped down last year. Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai took on the role of Alphabet CEO too, and that has proved to be a good choice considering this new achievement.
Shares of Alphabet have only been climbing this year, surging to more than an amazing 8% in 2020.
