Do you know anyone who writes beautiful short stories that have not been published? Or do you write? Read about the prize below and consider entering for it.
Entries will be received from November 15 to December 31, 2017.
Eligibility:
- Previously published works are not accepted.
- Only Nigerians who live in the country will be considered for the prize.
- Writers must be within the age bracket of 16-26 years.
- Submissions should be in English.
- Works translated from any Nigerian language to English is accepted.
- Only one story per author, multiple stories entry is not accepted.
How To Enter:
- Story lengths should be a minimum of 2,500 words and maximum of 5,000
- Stories should be a work of fiction.
- A cover note should be attached to the work that contains; full name, date of birth, email address and telephone number of author.
- Interested authors should send stories to awelecreativetrust@gmail.com during the time frame specified above.
Award Prize:
The winner will get the sum of N50,000 and if a translated work wins, the translator gets N20,000 of the prize money.
A longlist will be announced in February 2018 and then the list will be cut down to a shortlist of 5 in April.
The winner of the prize will be made known in May 2018.
