Over the weekend, Priyanka and Nick had their Christian and Hindu ceremonies in India in a lavish ceremony that lasted five days. 225 guests attended the wedding including all of Nick’s brothers and their partners.
The couple both wore outfits designed by their close friend Ralph Lauren for the Christian wedding with Priyanka’s featuring a 75-foot long train and two million mother of pearl sequins.
About the wedding, Priyanka wasn’t quite sure how to go about it but according to her, Nick suggested that they have two big weddings to celebrate their backgrounds.
She said:
“Every girl dreams of being a princess on her wedding day, but I never had a plan about what I wanted it to be.
“Being able to have two big weddings, in India, with our closest family and friends was unbelievably special. It was all tears. All tears. I could not hold it in. I think I was nervous and scared. But as soon as the curtains opened, and I saw his face it was just like everything settled and I knew I was making the best decision of my life.”
For the groom, “the emotions were running high during the ceremonies, I think especially during the Western wedding for me,” he says. “You know you think your whole life about that moment. Honestly, I could not have imagined it would be as perfect as it was. It was highly emotional.”
