Aliko Dangote reveals new decisions in his plan to buy Arsenal

Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man and philanthropist has revealed new steps in his plans to buy Arsenal football club.

Dangote, who is worth over $10 billion dollars, has expressed his desire to buy the football club, has revealed that he will no longer buy the club in 2020 as earlier planned.

This is due to his Dangote refinery which is still under construction and has caused his plans to be moved to 2021.

“It is a team that, yes, I would like to buy some day, but what I keep saying is we have $20billion worth of projects and that’s what I really want to concentrate on,” Dangote said on the David Rubenstein Show.

“I’m trying to finish building the company and then after we finish, maybe some time in 2021 we can.

“I’m not buying Arsenal right now, I’m buying Arsenal when I finish all these projects because I’m trying to take the company to the next level.”

Right now, the club is owned by Stan Kroenke who acquired the club in September 2018.

While Arsenal has been the butt of jokes for years following their medal drought, the club is now showing signs of promise following the exit of Unai Emery and the appointment of Mikel Arteta.
