FG Set To Implement ‘No Work, No Pay’.

It has been reported that the Federal Government of Nigeria have set their minds to put into practice the clause of not paying any worker that does not work for a particular period of time, based on the Trade Disputes of the Federation.

It has been seen by critics as a move in the wrong direction to check the reoccurrence of protest strike actions, as the Government have reportedly announced that soon any worker who goes on a strike will forfeit pay for the period they do not work.

One analyst said that the Government are employing what has been obtainable in Private Sectors but many others were quick to point out that private businesses do not owe workers pay with the kind of immunity the Government has.

Another commenter said the policy would caution many civil servants who do nothing but receive money at the end of the month but when it came to strike actions, the Government would do well to shift that policy away from the protest actions.
