Nigerian senator Rose Oko dies in the UK after battling an undisclosed illness at the age of 63.
The deceased senator was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and she represented the Cross River North Senatorial District in the National Assembly,
She was elected into the 8th Senate in June 2015 and re-elected into the 9th Senate in June 2019. She became the third senator to have died since June 2019.
According to the Vanguard newspaper, the senator died Monday night, 23rd March 2020.
Senator Oko’s death came after the vice-chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Ignatius Datong Longjan of All Progressives Congress (APC) and who represented Plateau South, died on Sunday, February 10, 2020, at a Turkish hospital in Abuja.
