The friendly between Colombia and South Korea was a feisty affair as both teams played as if they were fighting for a World Cup ticket, but events took a turn during a scuffle that the referee was trying to settle.
James Rodriguez had appeared to lift a South Korean player to either keep the play going or avoid a costly indictment on his team but the player had swung around with his hand outstretched and the Bayern Munich player fell down.
The referee quickly tried to keep situations from escalating as players from both teams were beginning to gather and when the issue seemed to have been resolved, Edwin Cordoba was seen to have made a racist gesture in the video targeted at the South Korean players that involved him stretch both sides of his eyes with his hands. Eagle eyed fans caught the action and her frying him over hot oil at the moment.
South Korea won the match 2-1 with Son Heung-min getting a brace but the incident seemed to mar the event.
