Popular Canadian singer, Celine Dion took out time to speak about her mother's passing away in her concert in Florida, last night, Friday, 16th 2020.

Popular Canadian singer Celine DionCanadian singer Celine Dion on Friday night, took out time during her concert in Florida, to speak about her mother, Thérèse Dion, who passed away Thursday, 16th January 2020.

The singer’s mum had passed away on Thursday night at 92, after months of declining health issues. Celine Dion had lost her father 2003.

Earlier, on Friday, 17th January 2020, the singer had written about her mother’s death on her Instagram, stating that she would be dedicating her last night’s concert to her.

Maman, we love you so much…, she writes. “We dedicate tonight’s show to you and I’ll sing to you with all my heart. Love, Céline xx… .”

During the singer’s performance at her concert, she chose to talk about her mother for a while before singing.

In a video shared by TMZ, Celine Dion, 51, tells the audience: “I’m pretty sure that you heard the news about my mom passing away early this morning, but I’m doing okay.

She continues: “My mom was 92. She was ill for quite a while. And we knew she wouldn’t be with us long.  Two days ago, we got a call from the nurses who were taking care of her so well, saying that her time was coming soon. Very soon. So last night, I joined my brothers and sisters in Montreal and I spent the evening at her bedside.”

Speaking of the night, the singer says: “We told stories. We sang songs. We hugged each other. And we said our goodbyes, we are pretty sure that mom waited for us to be all together before [she passed].”

The singer’s mom, Thérèse Dion, was 92 years old when she passed.
