In the latest episode of Toke Moments, media personality Toke Makinwa is taking out time to appreciate women.
Introducing the episode on Instagram, the author of On Becoming writes:
“Today I choose to celebrate my tribe. Shout out to all the women out there who despite the odds just keeping striving to be better than yesterday, I see so many sermons, seminars that are quick to point out what we are doing wrong and not enough hands to pull another woman up. It’s hard to be a woman in today’s society, it’s hard to stand up for yourself and voice your opinion/s without the fear of being judged, I particularly think there is a special place in hell for those women who put their own kind down. Hello???? It’s like we have not been put down enough, you decide to mock your own kind? I celebrate all the queens around the world, I may not understand your journey but it is my duty to respect it. Keep your crowns up, heels high and standards even higher queens, you’ve got this.”
