The American rapper has announced his plan to run for the office of president of the United States of America in 2024, going further to state that he might change his name to ‘Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West’.
He spoke about this while speaking at Fast Company’s innovation festival.
Kanye said: “When people say it’s crass to call yourself a billionaire, I say I might legally change my name to Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West for a year until y’all understand exactly what it is. It will be on the license plate.”
The American rapper added that if he were elected president, he would create “so many jobs”.
He went on to state that blacks in America were only treated as a demographic for elections, and he had personally experienced it as an African American fashion designer.
This isn’t the first time that Kanye West has made such grandiose statements.
Less than two weeks ago, he said during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats1 that he is the greatest artist of all time. He said:
“And now—I am unquestionably, undoubtedly, the greatest human artist of all time. It’s not even a question at this point. It’s just a fact. For the greatest artist in human existence to put a red hat on was God’s practical joke to all liberals. Like, ‘Nooo, not Kanye!’”
“There will be a time when I will be President of the United States and I will remember…any founder that didn’t have the capacity to understand culturally what we’re doing.”
His statement triggered reactions, many of whom dismissed the statements as customary of Kanye West.
