Kevin Hart released from hospital to a rehab facility

Kevin Hart has been released from a Los Angeles hospital 1o days after he was admitted for treatment for back injuries he sustained during a car crash.

TMZ reports that the actor and comedian has been  transferred to a live-in rehab facility where he’s undergoing intensive physical therapy. According to the TMZ, he is expected to stay at the rehab facility for about a week as the three spinal fractures caused by the crash continue to heal. Sources told the site that he’s “glad” to be out of the hospital and that he’s grateful to be alive.

Kevin was in the passenger seat of his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda around 1 am on 1 September 1 when the driver, his friend Jared Black, swerved off Mulholland Highway in Malibu and landed in a ditch. Reports say that Jared Black was airlifted from the scene, and his current condition is unknown. Jared’s fiancée, Rebecca Broxterman, was also in the car and suffered minor injuries. A California Highway Patrol collision says Kevin and Jared suffered “major back injuries

The vehicle ended up in a ditch about 10 feet off the side of the winding road after it smashed through a wooden fence. The roof of the Barracuda was almost completely crushed in the crash.

Kevin had bought the car as a 40th birthday present for himself in July.

His wife, Eniko, gave an update on the star’s condition one day after the crash, telling TMZ, “He’s great. … Yup, he’s going to be just fine.”

Earlier this week, Kevin’s friend, Jumanji co-star and…father?… Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson assured fans that the comedian was doing well during an appearance at Kelly Clarkson’s Show. Dwayne had stepped in to replace Kevin in the show after the comedian’s injuries from the accident prevented he’s attending the show.

Everything is good, I spoke with Kevin, I actually refer to him as my son,” Johnson, 47, joked. “These things happen in life, and thank God he was strapped in tight to his car seat. We spoke to his paediatrician and he’s doing very well. He’s bummed he couldn’t be here, as you know, but l love the guy. He’s one of my best friends. Thank God, it could’ve been a lot worse. He’s a lucky man. I wish him the best.”
