Nigeria has recorded an additional 460 coronavirus cases according to the latest data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The NCDC made the revelation during its nightly update on coronavirus in Nigeria via its Twitter handle on the 8th of July.
According to the centre, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country now stands at 30,249. The Centre also stated that 12,373 COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the coronavirus, known formally as SARS-Cov-2.
Meanwhile, 684 people have died from COVID-19 related complications. This means that the active number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Nigerians as of the night of Wednesday 8th, July was 17,192

Kogi has not recorded new infections for some time although 2 of their five cases died (quite high). Still, it’s a good thing there has not been a new case in the state. If that were the case for other states we would have kissed Covid-19 goodbye.
