Nigeria has recorded an additional 242 confirmed COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, according to the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC).
The total number of confirmed cases in the country has now gone up to 4641 by the night of 11 May 2020, according to data reported by the NCDC through its verified Twitter handle during its nightly updates.
The spread of the virus has grown rapidly since it was first announced in Nigeria in February 2020, only a few months after the outbreak started in Wuhan, China.
The NCDC has apologised again for reporting an error on the 10th of April 2020, after it announced 2 new deaths in Nasarawa state.
According to the official Twitter handle, there was 1 death in Nasarawa reported on the 10th of April.
Lagos State, which is the epicentre of the virus is rapidly getting to the 2000 mark.
