Nigeria has recorded an additional 184 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC).
The total number of confirmed cases in the country has now gone up to 4,971 according to data reported by the NCDC through its verified Twitter handle during its nightly updates.
The spread of the virus has grown rapidly since it was first announced in Nigeria in February 2020, only a few months after the outbreak started in Wuhan, China.
Lagos State, which is the epicentre of the virus has exceeded the 2000 mark by 41.
