On Tuesday in Abuja, while discussing the Federal Government’s plan for education during the Coronavirus, the Minister for Education, Emeka Nwajubu revealed the news.
The Minister said that the examinations, which were due to be held in May and June 2020 have been postponed to allow students to study online, according to Premium Times.
He also revealed that up to 15 states have started e-learning efforts to ensure that students do not lag behind their counterparts in other countries.
“About 15 states have already commenced learning via different channels that are available in their states, mostly local TV and radio.
“All the programmes they are running are approved by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Commission. Some of those states are Anambra, Lagos, Kaduna, Ondo, Edo, and Ogun. There are different education programmes for different times,” he said.
On 19 March, the Government directed all primary, secondary, and tertiary schools across the country to close down pending the time that the Coronavirus outbreak can be contained.
At the time of this writing, Nigeria has recorded 873 confirmed cases of the virus with 197 recoveries and 28 deaths.
