Led by a notorious criminal Ogailo Young popularly called OC, the ex-militants and vandals all brought their weapons to the Collection and Documentation of Arms Centre in Ajakpa in Ondo State.
They did it in a bid to embrace the amnesty programme of the Ondo State Government on Tuesday.
Among them were the militants who kidnapped the six Senior Secondary School pupils of Lagos Model College, Igbonla, Epe, Lagos State and also some pipeline vandals who allegedly broke pipelines at Arepo in Ogun State and have carried out several attacks in the riverine areas of Ondo State.
The leader of the gang, Young, said:
The Chairman of the state amnesty committee and Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, said that the sophisticated weapons that were surrendered showed that the exercise was impressive and promised the repentant militants that the Government will keep its promise to them in actualizing the goals of the amnesty programme.
