N2m Bounty Placed On Suspected Killer Of British Missionary In Delta.

The killer of British missionary Ian Squire has been identified by the Nigerian police and they are offering a reward of N2million to anyone who can provide the whereabouts of the suspect.

Last week it was reported that the 56 year old Mr. Squire who was engaged in missionary work in Delta State had been killed during his kidnap. He was kidnapped along with three others who have been released and have been reunited with their families outside Nigeria.

Ian Squire had been working with a Charity organization called the New Foundations and was renowned for making solar powered electricity available in the remote area. He was abducted by suspected militants of whom five have been arrested and interrogations revealed that the leader of the gang who kidnapped the missionaries for ransom was a notorious criminal, Karowei Gabkumo.

The commissioner of police, Zanna Ibrahim, revealed that the arrested suspects were making confessions that will aid the police in their investigation; he reported the information gathered so far:

“Based on the information we gathered, the suspect Ebimene Arerobo has been acting as an informant to the Karowei criminal syndicate. Ekpenunena Courtmember led the gang to the victims’ residence and also provided petrol to fuel the speedboat used for the operation. Another suspect, Wirly Huludu, was aware of the gang’s activities but concealed the information. On the fateful day, he put a call to Bokeyo, who is suspected to be the second-in-command to Karowei,”

He also revealed that one James Tennes had been in on the plan and aided their operation, even providing them with refreshments while they still work on the involvement of Godswill Hana who was implicated by Ekpenunena.

The police announced that the suspected gang leader, Karowei Gbakumor hails from Enekorogha community of Burutu local government area and they have placed a reward of N2m on his head.
