Nigerians raise over 20 million Naira for Olamide Alli’s children

The most recent example of this is the stunning amount of money that was raised for the children of Olamide Alli’s children following her tragic death.

Recall that Olamide was brutally killed by her partner, Chris Ndukwe in Lekki on Sunday, 21 June in a tragic story that rocked Nigerians.

A few days after, the AGS Tribe, a women entrepreneurial empowerment community that Olamide belonged to, called for donations for a trust fund for her children aged 7 and 3.

Within a week, the trust fund which had a target of 20 million Naira had raked in over 22 million Naira. One person reportedly singlehandedly contributed 5 million Naira to the fund.

Ife Durosinmi-Etti, who organized the fund, wrote on Instagram:

“Exactly a week after the first announcement, we have been able to surpass our target. This is actually WILD! I don’t have the words to describe how I feel.

“When I announced the 20million as a target… I was SCARED!!!! After we got to 6 million, I started having heart palpitations… I don’t even know why… but even more fear set in.

“One of my brothers asked me yesterday that how did I come up with 20m, he thought there was a method to my madness, when I told him, he was rolling! Last year, i had a meeting with someone in the AGS Tribe community. She wasn’t working but she was able to pay for a session with me amongst other things… she was also considering starting businesses. I had to ask her… where will you get the money from. She said when she was working in her former job, she saved up enough and has put it in a Trust, now they pay her so so so and so every 3 months. I just smiled because I used to manage our Education Trust Fund in my former job! Long and short… the money can never finish.

“So guess what I did… I just doubled their amount the lady had discussed with me and came up with the 20m. I guess God was preparing me for a day like last week Sunday.
