Oprah Winfrey warns fans against scammers using her name

Oprah Winfrey is not giving out $5000.00 to anybody who signs up for an OWN Christmas account on Instagram.

This was confirmed by the billionaire mogul after she learnt that scammers were trying to take advantage of her Instagram followers by asking them to follow an Instagram account for money in exchange.

Using a jingle during her warning to emphasize her point, the 63-year-old entertainer says:

“Hi everybody,” she begins jovially, “I just wanted you to know that somebody out there is trying to scam you using my name and my avatar on social media.

“The scammers are apparently asking for money if you sign up for an OWN account on Instagram.

“Don’t believe it,” continues the cultural icon, “don’t give up any of your bank accounts or personal information to anybody posing as me or anyone else for that matter.”

Oprah ends her message by wishing her fans a “Merry Christmas”.
