In a long Facebook post, the Togo-born relationship counsellor waded into the debate of ‘to tithe or not to tithe’ and he was clearly pro-tithe. He explained that the functioning of the church including the running and overhead cost are paid for by money raised from tithing from members. In his argument, he also said that the pastors of the church deserve to live in the best part of town and to drive the best cars, leaving us wondering why Jesus had to borrow a donkey for his triumphant entry into Jerusalem? We suppose “suffer suffer for the earth, enjoy for heaven” applies only to worshippers, while the “men of God” start their own enjoyment from earth.
