The Lagos State Government has been carrying out demolition activities in the State, the action according to the authorities are in line with the regulations on building that residents have been neglecting. Last year defending the demolitions going on, the Minister of Housing in the State, Mr. Gbolahan Lawal had said:
“It is quite worrisome that ramshackle structures, sheds, canopies and shanties, especially along shorelines have turned to the abode of miscreants/street urchins, kidnappers, touts, street traders and hawkers who often vandalise public utilities and attack innocent citizens.”
But the Twitter user posted pictures to show the notice served to her father’s house and the media are retweeting it until the Governor of Lagos State see it.
Lagos State paid the residents of my street a visit today and gave each of house an early Christmas present. A 2010 law, my dad completed the house in 1994, a duplex, we've lived there 23 years. They gave 48 hours, next step, demolition. pic.twitter.com/mcxst3ap6K
