Nicki Minaj – Cardi B war is curated! Chance The Rapper says

They were pushed into it!

Chance The Rapper believes that the reported subsisting beef between American rappers Nicki Minaj and Cardi B is an artefact of the powers be who “pit people against (each other)” and “it’s made for you to accept it a certain way.”

Chance The Rapper gave his opinion during an interview with Big Boy TV. When Big Boy (born Kurt Alexander) asks him:

“You didn’t get caught up in the Nicki Minaj, Cardi B so-called tug of war like you gotta align yourself with someone?”

Chance replies: “Yeah a lot of that stuff is produced. Like we live in a…, a lot of everything is curated before we get to see it like all the information and the way that they phrase it to us the way that they pit people against. It’s made for you to accept it a certain way. So like a lot of people had to choose a side.”

He adds: “And I think, ‘I don’t wanna speak for them at all.’ But I feel like to a certain extent they got pushed into that and I don’t think that all of that was a hundred per cent their feelings, you know what I’m saying. So, it’s like just honest, they are two of the greatest recording artists you know and it’s just like that’s just facts like the way that their music touch people, the way that they have impacted people has been incredible.”

In the full interview, which is available on Big Boy TV’s YouTube channel, Chance The Rapper also touched on the impact Nicki Minaj has had on the industry beyond recording music. Chance reveals he has tremendous respect for Nicki Minaj, who sees as a mentor.

His words: “And for all that Nikki’s done in the game just like beyond hip-hop like, like outside of hip-hop streaming rights like the rights of us to collect the money that we’re owed, the right for Billboard to start accounting streams that they weren’t counting. That was Nikki Minaj.”

“I respect Nikki in a whole different way and I’m not close to Nikki on a friend level. She’s more like, I would say, in a mentor space for me. She’s like, here I’m saying itty bitty Peggy and monster literally. When I did my Ultralite Beam that was my monster moment, that was my Nikki Minaj moment.

He adds: “She’s already who Nikki is and Cardi is like my friend. She’s like three months younger than me. I have a massive amount of respect for both of them and I think we all should.”
