ABBA to release new music for first time in 35 years

If you grew up in the 80’s or early 90’s you will be excited about this news.

ABBA was one of the most commercially successful acts in the history of popular music, topping the charts worldwide from 1974 to 1982. They are the most successful group to have taken part and won the Eurovision Song Contest.

ABBA is estimated to have sold 140 to over 500 million records, making them one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

Taking to their official Instagram account, the group posted: “The decision to go ahead with the exciting ABBA avatar tour project had an unexpected consequence.

“We all four felt that, after some 35 years, it could be fun to join forces again and go into the recording studio. So we did. And it was like time had stood still and that we had only been away on a short holiday. An extremely joyful experience!”

“Continuing, it resulted in two new songs and one of them – I Still Have Fair In You – will be performed by our digital selves in a TV special produced by NBC and the BBC aimed for broadcasting in December.

“We may have come of age, but the song is new. And it feels good.”

The group’s manager, Gorel Hanser, also confirmed the news in a press release.
