Singer Iledare Olajuwonlo-James, popularly known as Jaywon, has been reportedly arrested by the police for flaunting the COVID-19 curfew order issued in Lagos state.
According to the Punch, the singer was stopped by police officers monitoring the curfew order at about 11 pm on Monday, 4 May 2020.
Jaywon was then taken to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, where he was charged before a mobile court after his statement had been taken.
The report also says that the singer was arraigned before a magistrate court on Tuesday, 5 May 2020, where he pleaded guilty.
The presiding magistrate ordered him to pay a fine of N10,000 and also sentenced him to 30 minutes of community service.
Also according to the Punch, the Lagos State Police Command public relations officer, Bala Elkana, stated that Jaywon was among 179 persons arrested for violating the curfew and using face masks in the state.
