There’s no #24 without #2: Vanessa Bryant changes foundation’s name to Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation

Bryant

Because there is no #24 without #2, we have updated the Mamba Sports Foundation to now be called the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation“, Vanessa Bryant says on a statement released on Instagram.

Following the tragic helicopter crash accident of 26 January 2020 that claimed the lives of NBA star, Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and others, it’s been a really trying time for his family, his wife, especially who lost both husband and child in one stroke.

The duo was buried 2 weeks after in a private ceremony on 7 February 2020 as we reported. They were reportedly buried at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar, California, with Vanessa promising that another memorial service that will be open to the public will be held on the 24th of February at Staples Center.

A while ago, the widowed wife of Kobe Bryant took to her Instagram page to announce the change in the name of their foundation.

She write: “Because there is no #24 without #2, we have updated the Mamba Sports Foundation to now be called the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation. Our mission remains the same – and stronger than ever – to provide opportunities to young people through sports. Thank you all for the outpouring of support and your kind donations to date as we carry forth Kobe and Gigi’s legacy… We hope to empower young athletes in a world they left us all to help shape. #Mamba #Mambacita #wings @mambamambacitasports”
