Westlife stage epic comeback with first album in nine years

The epic boyband, Westlife are staging their comeback, and have already released a song!

They released their first song in nine years, titled ‘Hello My Love,’ and co-written by Ed-Sheeran. Unsurprisingly, it received warm reviews as fans cannot wait for the album to be released, Metro News is reporting.

The four-man boyband has recently released another song, titled ‘My Blood’.

Shane Filan, Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne, and Mark Feehily have big hopes for their comeback and have declared that it has to be better than ‘Take That’s’.

Shane said while speaking to Metro News: “We really felt like we needed a tempo for this album and to make it more upbeat in general. We needed to find a sound.”

He also revealed that they took inspiration from other 90’s bands who have recently made comebacks. He said: “Boyzone, who are another band similar to Westlife, they came back and were better the second time around.”

The singer went further by saying: “If there’s anyone we had to compare to or look at, it would be Take That’s comeback. It has to be on that level or better. We have to be a better version of our former selves. If we want to play in the venues that we want to play in, we have to have really good music. We’re very proud of it [our new album].”

In addition to Ed Sheeran, they also enlisted the help of superstar producer, Steve Mac, who has worked with big names in the industry including Pink, Little Mix, Calvin Harris, among others.

Kian admitted that while they love their early albums, they definitely ‘had a few fillers’ on them. He said: “We’re a better version of ourselves and we just kind of feel like that this album kind of sits in there with that.”
