Football legend Didier Drogba officially retires from football

Ivorian and Chelsea football legend Didier Drogba has announced his retirement.

The 40-year-old announced the news after playing in his final match for his MLS team, Phoenix rising.

Even though his team lost 1 – 0 to the opposing team, Louisville City, he was serenaded and cheered on by fans.

Didier Drogba was signed by football giant Chelsea in 2004. He won four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three league cups and one champions league with the Stanford Bridge side and also became the first African player to score 100 premier league goals.
