Jose Mourinho joins premier league scuffle as Tottenham Hotspur's new manager
Football fans are very excited today at the news that famed Chelsea and Manchester United coach, Jose Mourinho is returning to coaching.

Mourinho will replace Mauricio Pochettino as Tottenham’s head coach.

Pochettino was sacked on Tuesday, 19 November, barely six months after taking Tottenham to the EPL final, a feat he could not achieve this season as Tottenham is 14th on the league table.

According to Sky Sports, the list of potential coaches drawn up by the club’s chairman Daniel Levy included Mourinho, RB Leipzig’s Julian Nagelsmann, former Juventus boss Max Allegri and PSG’s Thomas Tuchel.

Mourinho, who has been out of a job since December, got the spot. Before that, he had a brief stint as a sports pundit.

Mourinho was promised funds to improve the squad in January and in the summer transfer window if he felt necessary.

“I am excited to be joining a club with such a great heritage and such passionate supporters,” said Mourinho. “The quality in both the squad and the academy excites me. Working with these players is what has attracted me.”

Levy, on the other hand, said today that he was reluctant to sack Pochettino, but had to do it for the club’s best interests.

“In Jose, we have one of the most successful managers in football,” Levy said on Wednesday.

“He has a wealth of experience, can inspire teams and is a great tactician. He has won honours at every club he has coached. We believe he will bring energy and belief to the dressing room.”

The Tottenham side has won only five matches this season and it will be interesting to see how Mourinho plans to turn the club around.
