Move Over, Hayatou, New Boss on the Block! Caf Elects Ahmad as New Chief of Body

The confederation of African Football (CAF) has elected a new chief in the person of Ahmad Ahmad of Madagascar. Ahmad defeated the incumbent, Issa Hayatou, by 34 votes to 20 in the election held at Addis Ababa on Thursday 16 March. The victory ends the 29 years’ reign of Hayatou as the head of the football governing body. Meanwhile, the newly elected chief, Ahmad, has pledged to make more finances available to member federations.

Similarly, Nigeria’s own Malvin Pinnick Amaju defeated Beninoise Anjorin Ayodele Moucharafou with 32 vote to 17 to be voted as a member of CAF Executive Committee! Congratulations to both gentlemen!
