The Los Blancos president Florentino Perez earlier said that anyone who wants to acquire the services of the Croatian midfielder would have to pay his huge release clause.
“Modric is not leaving Real Madrid,” said Florentino Pérez.
“He is not leaving unless someone pays the 750 million euros of his release clause and not a euro less.”
Real Madrid now want to ensure that they keep one of their best men with a rise in his pay.
They hope to keep Inter Milan away by increasing his £138,000-a-week wages according to Spanish newspaper MARCA.
