Salah demands more protection from Egyptian FA owing to over enthusiastic fans

Mohammed Salah has raised concerns about lack of security from the Egyptian FA.

The Liverpool superstar is the most popular player in Egypt with thousands of die-hard fans.

His celebrity status has led fans to knock on his hotel bedroom door to ask for photos and autographs.

He is also mobbed during training sessions with fans disrupting exercises to get close to the 26-year-old.

Events like these have led to his lawyer, Ramy Abbas Issa sending several letters to the EFA requesting for changes in how the striker is treated.

The sun reports that Issa describes the treatment of his player as ‘abhorrent’ and ‘disgraceful’.

He asked that fans be stopped from camping outside Salah’s room and disrupting his training.

He also requested for two security guards with Salah at all times, with more situated outside his hotel room and at the lifts on the floor he is staying on, while all calls to his room must be blocked.

It would seem that the EFA is yet to reply any of their letters as Salah took to Twitter to further complain:

“It’s normal that a football federation seeks to solve the problems of its players so they can feel comfortable. But in fact, what I see is exactly the opposite.

“It is not normal that my messages and my lawyer’s messages are ignored. I do not know why all this (is happening)? Do you not have time to respond to us?!”
