Recall that Sidomex Entertainment reported a few weeks ago that Seyitan, through her friend, accused D’banj of raping her at a hotel in 2018.
D’banj did not respond to the allegations until after his 40th birthday celebrations when he shared a legal statement demanding 100 million Naira from Seyitan as well as an apology in four national newspapers within 48 hours.
However, a few hours after he shared the statement on his Instagram page, he took it down and rumours began to surface on social media that the singer was using his power to intimidate Seyitan.
The reports claimed that he had arrested her and locked her up in a police station without access to her lawyers or her family. It was also alleged that Seyitan had been pressured into sharing pre-approved content on social media.
Well, Seyitan took to social media in the early hours of Wednesday, 24 June to issue a lengthy press statement, dismissing some of the rumours and confirming others.

After seeing how Nigerian women pulled up gun blazing for Seyitan, i never want to hear anyone open their mouths to say women are women’s worst enemies ever gain.
These women literally used a satellite to track her whereabouts to free her after D’banj kidnapped her.
Bad-A-s!!!

A coherent account of things, unlike the incoherent erratic display we have witnessed from the other party. Seyitan has our support to the end of this thing. https://t.co/rnhHfNayye

Reading this press statement & I am just in awe and proud of how Nigerian women came together to protect Seyitan Babatayo.
Angered at the steps that RAPIST @iamdbanj took to silence her voice using his power.
And elated that despite his best efforts, he could not silence her. https://t.co/VYSPG000hq

I also hope Seyitan sues Glee Hotel for giving a stranger access to her room. The hotel, not just the employee.

Assault, unlawful arrest, detention, kidnapping, threats… you con dey post videos for haters. This life no balance at all.
I stand with Seyitan. She must get the justice she deserves. We need to show these men who think they’re untouchable that they can and will be touched.

D’banj raped Seyitan
D’banj arrested and had her illegally detained
D’banj took over her IG and Twitter accounts
D’banj is using her accounts to tweet pictures of himself and his musicI have NEVER in my life seen such a flagrant display of misuse of power by a celeb on SM.

OLUWATOYIN SALAU spoke out about her sexual assault and then she was found dead. SEYITAN was held in custody because she spoke out. Women are literally put in danger for speaking out, so nobody should even dare open their stupid mouth to ask why there’s such anonymity

That statement sounds damning
