Rapper, Tekashi 6ix9ine sentenced to two years in prison

Rapper, Tekashi 6ix9ine has been sentenced to two years in prison for gang violence.

The rapper was a member of the violent gang, Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods and his involvement reportedly fueled his rise to fame.

The 23-year-old rapper pleaded guilty earlier this year to charges of racketeering, drug trafficking, gang membership, among other charges.

Tekashi was spared a much harsher punishment following his widely publicized decision to snitch on his former gang members. He has already served 13 months of his sentence, so he will likely be released in late 2020.

He was also sentenced to five years probation and 300 hours of community service.

The rapper has apologized profusely throughout the course of his trial. He wrote a letter to the court last week, taking responsibility for his actions as well as apologizing for them.

He also apologized to his fans and promised to change his ways once he’s out of jail.

The rapper also directly apologized to one of his victims – a woman who testified in court that she was shot in the foot during a July 2018 shooting in Brooklyn.

During his sentencing, US district judge, Paul Engelmayer said: “Your cooperation was impressive. It was game changing. It was complete and it was brave.”
