Tonto Dikeh’s ex-husband, Churchill Olakunle drags her to court, sues her for 500 million
He is alleging that her accusations against him were defamatory and is requesting compensation of 500 million Naira.
Olakunle Churchill references Tonto’s three-part documentary, titled ‘The Evidence’, claiming that his wife accused him of cyber fraud, popularly known as Yahoo Yahoo.
She also claimed to have seen him in a red piece of cloth with candles around him and a laptop in his lap.
He is also seeking compensation for her claims that his father is a gardener, dispelling the belief that he is related to former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
According to the papers that Churchill filed in court, he said: “The series of malicious and fallacious allegations, assertions and accusations through media campaigns and publications by Tonto Dikeh and her charity group was defamatory.”
He hinted that he told Tonto about his plans to run for political office and alleged that her allegations against him have hurt his chances.
Tonto Dikeh has been ordered to appear in court 14 days from the 10 December 2019 or the court would deliver judgement in her absence.
Their court date has been fixed for 20 February.
In April 2019, Churchill filed a complaint against Tonto Dikeh over document forgery and the illegal sale of his Toyota Prado SUV which was reportedly worth 22 million Naira.
Tonto ad Churchill met in 2015 at Escape nightclub during a birthday party. Six months later, she got pregnant and they got married in August 2015. The couple separated in 2018 amidst a lot of drama during which Tonto ended up with custody of their son, King Andre.
