Born in 1970, Marisela Vallejos Felix is known as the wife of Chalino Sánchez, a famous Mexican singer and songwriter. The only reason for Marisela’s fame is her celebrity husband. Marisela and Chalino’s union produced two children: a son and a daughter, but only one of them is still living. As it turns out, the loss of her husband wasn’t going to be the only one Marisela would have to live with. Tragedy struck again 12 years after Chalino’s death when their son died in a car accident in 2004. Adan, who followed his father’s footsteps career-wise, was a vocalist before his death. Chalino Sánchez (Wiki) – husband

Born Rosalino Sánchez Félix on 30 August 1960, Chalino was a Mexican singer and songwriter. He specialised in the genres regional Mexican and Corrido. Chalino’s son Adán Chalino Sánchez was born 14 April 1984 and was also a Regional Mexican singer in his own right. The youngest of 7 children, Chalino grew up poor and lived a difficult life. His sister, Juana, called him a curious and mischievous child who always dreamed about becoming a singer.

In 1975, at the age of 15, his sister was raped by “Chapo” Perez, a rich and dangerous man. Two years later, in 1977, a 17-year-old Chalino saw the man at a party and allegedly shot him in revenge, killing him. After committing this act, Sanchez left for Tijuana with his gun and a Jesús Malverde chain. In Tijuana, he worked as a “coyote” (an immigrant smuggler), bringing immigrants into the United States. Later that year, Chalino himself crossed into the United States as an undocumented migrant worker.

He began in Oregon and later moved to Los Angeles to live with his aunt in Inglewood, California. He washed dishes, sold cars, and, according to his friends, dealt small quantities of marijuana and cocaine. Chalino also helped his older brother, Armando, run an immigrant-smuggling operation. In 1984, Armando was shot and killed, which inspired Chalino to compose his first corrido or ballad.

Chalino Sánchez music career

Not long after the death of his elder brother, Chalino got arrested. He began to compose songs for his fellow inmates and anyone that had a story worth telling. He made money through this and also got several gifts, including guns. A small group known as “Los Cuatro de la Frontera” recommended Chalino to go to a recording studio in Los Angeles.

In 1989, Chalino recorded his first cassette of 15 songs and sold them out of his car trunk. He used to stock tapes at local swap meets, bakeries, and various other businesses across South Central Los Angeles. Later on, Chalino met Pedro Rivera, who had set up a small recording studio called Cintas Acuario in California. There, upcoming musicians were allowed to record at a low price.

Together, Pedro and Chalino pioneered a new type of music, and they thrived. Though a forbidden sound, their music had its audience and Chalino was often booked for shows.

Chalino Sánchez death

On 15 May 1992, Chalino performed at the Salon Bugambilias, Culiacán. On stage, he was given a note telling him he would die after he was done performing. Though he was visibly nervous, Chalino still performed and gave it everything he had, knowing he was about to die. After midnight, Chalino drove away from the club with two of his brothers, a cousin, and several young women. They were pulled over by a group of armed men in Chevrolet Suburbans. They showed state police ID cards and told Chalino their commandant wanted to see him. Chalino agreed and got into one of their cars while the others followed behind.

At 6 am on 16 May 1992, two farmers found Chalino’s body by an irrigation canal near Highway 15, near the neighbourhood of Los Laureles, Culiacán. He was blindfolded, and his wrists had rope marks. He had been shot in the back of the head.

In 1994, at the age of 10, he recorded his first full-length album, entitled “Soy el Hijo de Chalino”.

On 20 March 2004, Sánchez gave a concert and made history when he became the youngest headliner and first Regional-Mexican recording artist to sell out the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.

Adán was on a promotional road tour through his father’s home state of Sinaloa, Mexico, when he met with his untimely death. He was on his way to a concert in Tuxpan, Nayarit, Mexico, on the highway between Rosario and Escuinapa when one of his car’s tires blew.
