Katramados was born on 13 July 1973 to an American Christian family living in Illinois, USA. She grew up with her parents in their family home in the Midwestern region of the US. Bess will turn 48 on her birthday in 2021.

Paul Wight was born with acromegaly, a disease of the endocrine system that causes accelerated growth. When he turned 12, he already had the height of a tall adult man standing at 6 feet 2 inches. He also weighed 220 lb (100 kg) and had chest hair. By the time he was 19, he was already over 7 feet 1 inch tall.

He underwent surgery later on his pituitary gland, which halted his abnormal growth. During his adult years working as a bouncer, bounty hunter and phone call attendant, he met wrestling legend, Hulk Hogan. Hulk Hogan introduced him to World Championship Wrestling’s (WCW) vice president, Eric Bischoff and from there, his career took off.

He signed with WCW in 1995 as The Giant and beat Hulk Hogan in his professional in-ring debut at Halloween Havoc in 1995. Big Show won the World Heavyweight Championship the same year then proceeded to win the WCW World Tag Team Championship twice along with Sting and Luger.

He left the WCW to join the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) (now known as World Wrestling Entertainment, WWE). Wight or Big Show, as he is popularly known, is a seven-time world champion. He has won the WWF/WWE Championship twice, WWE’s World Heavyweight Championship twice and the ECW World Heavyweight Championship once. He is also notably the only wrestler to have won all four major American wrestling titles.
