American rapper Kendrick Lamar has new music on the way according to hints from Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) president Punch.
Punch hinted of a new Kendrick Lamar song during a conversation with Karen Civil of Girl I Guess podcast.
Civil had invited Punch to be a guest on her popular podcast and asked; “Can we play that new Kendrick you played me?” Then, Punch had replied with, “YES! Soon.” This confirms the rumour that the rapper will be dropping something soon.
Fans have gotten impatient with the rapper after he has failed to drop any studio album since Damn in 2017 which he released under Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). The album topped the US Billboard 200 with 603,000 album-equivalent units earned in its first week.
Additionally, it also topped the chart of Canada while reaching number two in Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Damn had notable singles like “Humble”, “Loyalty”, and “Love”.
Kendrick’s last major music contribution was the Black Panther soundtrack album that produced tracks like “All the Stars”, “King’s Dead”, “Pray for Me” and many more.
In August 2020, Kendrick Lamar was suspected to be shooting a music video after clips of him suspended over the ocean by a crane surfaced online. Also, in March 2020, producer Thundercat revealed in an interview that he worked ‘a little bit’ on Lamar’s new album.
